CONSUMER ROOM BUILDOUT

Designed by the Converse Trend Lab team, this room buildout was made to show a glimpse into the lives, minds, and bedrooms, of the teenage consumer. The installation was set up like a museum with lettered plaques and a map explaining the different aspects of the room. A key take away for the viewer, was the similarities of trend’s in both the ‘male’ & female’ rooms, showing the blurred lines of masculinity and femininity in the modern teen consumer.

Video’s displayed on the left, set the mood for the viewer. Photos on the wall and the items scattered around the room, helped shine light on the persona of each consumer. The viewer could sit on ‘her’ bed or at ‘his’ desk to listen to real teen consumer interviews while emerging themselves in ‘their’ world.

When constructing the buildout, the team thought about everything, down to what ‘they’ might have in their trash. At the front of the exhibit is a cluster of handmade t-shirts and shipping materials to symbolize the entrepreneurial spirit of teen’s today.
